Automation is the science of autonomous systems

Automation is the science of designing autonomous systems and their building blocks. It covers the design and control of industrial processes, robots, autonomous vehicles, vessels and other artificial autonomous systems. Automation includes the development of sensors, measurement systems, actuators and management and control solutions. It is one of the most interdisciplinary fields of electrical engineering. Automation engineers improve the world with innovative solutions and make life easier and more pleasant.

Institute of Automation is an independent research and teaching unit covering the entire field of automation in electrical engineering.

Our main focus is research, which we aim to direct as much as possible towards industrial areas of interest to the economy. In this way we contribute to its development and modernisation and to the spread of new knowledge and its application in the real world. At the same time, through teaching we pass our knowledge on to students and so build the pool of future professionals that industry needs.

The Institute of Automation consists of three laboratories, which enables better research results in the specific areas each laboratory covers.
