A robust miniature acoustical liquid level gauge with micrometer resolution

This paper presents concept and design of a miniature liquid level gauge. An experimental level gauge with the measurement range of 5 cm, relative accuracy better than 0.5% and resolution better than 0.1%, has been demonstrated in practice. The proposed gauge proves to be robust in terms of jams, foams, deposits, residues, etc. In addition, the system uses relatively simple and potentially low cost design. Therefore, the proposed measurement system can be used independently or as a part of scientific, chemical, biomedical, industrial, or similar instrumentation.
