Radar data processing
In collaboration with the German Space Agency (DLR) we are developing algorithms for automatic categorization of the Earth's surface.
Our activities in the field of remote sensing covers the processing of radar images, which includes the processing of the final focused SAR image to eliminate spot noise and scene modeling with texture models and indexation.
We have developed the detection of soil moisture with and without vegetation method and we are dealing with change detection using interferometric data, ie the classification of information from the interferometric data and assessing the amount of vegetation from SAR data.

The Bouyancy Controller for Divers Drysuit
Manufacturers of diving equipment are constantly trying to increase the level of comfort and safety in diving. One of the major problems is to control the volume of the divers drysuit wich affects the bouyancy of the diver. The aim of the project is to create a buoyancy controller, which allows automated and autonomous lifting and lowering the depth of the diver.
There are at least two compelling reason why it is difficult to manually control the bouyancy: first, diver's bouyancy depends on the depht due to gas compressibility and second, poor visibility, wich provides poorly detectable informations about the speed and depht of the diver.
